The popular photo-sharing app Instagram has added another feature to the mix – music. Since launching their latest feature in December 2018, Instagram Music has slowly been spreading to different countries worldwide, and now they have officially launched it in Pakistan as well.
Things to know about Instagram Music:
Instagram recently announced that it was launching a music feature called IG Music. This feature allows users to play music from SoundCloud, Spotify and YouTube, as well as their own photos, for people to discover and share. If you’ve used Instagram then you know that just by scrolling through your feed you’ll come across a lot of videos, but now with Instagram Music users can actually listen to those videos! The best part about all of this? You don’t even have to leave Instagram! You can watch what your friends are doing on Instagram while listening to whatever song or album they’ve chosen.
How to use Instagram Music?
- To access Instagram Music simply tap into your profile picture at the top right corner of your screen and choose IG Music under Explore.
- Your profile will also include a new section called Music where you can view all of your activity related to music: likes, comments, posts etc. You can also see other people’s profiles here too! So not only does IG allow you to see what songs others are playing or liking but also gives users an opportunity to learn more about other accounts as well. In order for someone else’s profile page to appear on yours however, both accounts must follow each other first before any sharing occurs.
- Once you tap into Instagram Music and choose Explore, you’ll be able to browse through various playlists that have been created by users around the world.
- If there’s a song that catches your eye then simply tap into it and listen away! You’ll be able to hear it without leaving Instagram so no need to open up Spotify or SoundCloud separately.
- There are several different ways that people can discover music using IG Music: by searching hashtags, browsing through specific genres and even through their friends’ playlists.
- As mentioned above, if two accounts follow each other then they’re able to share their music with one another as well. This means that if you like a certain song from someone else’s account then you can add it to your own playlist.
- It’s important to note that when listening to music through IG Music, users will still be able to comment and like individual photos just like they would normally do on Instagram.
- Users who want to create their own playlist will have access to three options: My Collection, Explore and New.
- The My Collection option allows users who’ve previously listened or added songs/albums onto their personal playlist(s), which can be accessed at any time by tapping into My Profile > Music > My Collection.
- For those who want to discover new music, Explore will provide them with a variety of options such as trending tracks, popular albums and artists based off genre preferences.
- When creating a playlist on Instagram Music, users can name it whatever they’d like. They can also give it its own cover photo and description.
- These playlists can be shared publicly or privately depending on how you’d prefer others to find them.
- Anyone following you will now be able to view these playlists and add them onto their own collection as well!
- All playlists created through IG Music are public meaning anyone (including non-followers!) can find them by searching for your username within Instagram Music itself.
Instagram Music Feature :
It’s free, allows you to create playlists and share music with friends via their website or mobile app, and it lets you follow other artists. You can also preview tracks and listen to full-length albums before buying. Simply search for music by name or browse popular charts or new releases. Listen to all your favorite songs—including those that are already on your phone—or download new ones if you want them on your device. As long as you have a Wi-Fi connection, Instagram Music works just like any other streaming service. It doesn’t matter whether you prefer pop, hip hop, rock, country or EDM—you can find what you love and hear it anywhere. Whether you’re commuting to work, running errands or cleaning up around the house, you can stream your favorite music directly from Instagram. But keep in mind that not every song will be available through Instagram Music at launch. However, users will see an option to add track when they visit a song page where it isn’t available yet. This feature has been designed specifically for emerging markets such as Pakistan where data plans are less expensive than they are in other countries around the world. In addition to working well over cellular networks, it offers an offline mode so people can still enjoy their music when they don’t have access to Wi-Fi or data.
How to Add songs on Instagram Music ?
A few days ago, Instagram launched its music feature for users in more than 20 countries. The feature, as with other countries, allows you to tap on a song that’s been shared on Instagram or search for your favourite track.
A floating button next to your profile picture will display three options: Add To Your Song Queue – This option lets you add an individual song to a queue of songs that play randomly when you go offline. You can add up to 50 songs from any one account and toggle them off anytime. – This option lets you add an individual song to a queue of songs that play randomly when you go offline. Play Next – If you’re already listening to something else, tapping on Play Next will pick up where you left off last time and start playing another song by that artist automatically. If it’s not available, it’ll move onto another artist or playlist instead. – If you’re already listening to something else, tapping on Play Next will pick up where you left off last time and start playing another song by that artist automatically. Add To Your Library – When you have enough songs queued up, they appear in your library (which is accessible via a tab at the top of your screen). Here, they are organized into playlists based on genre or moods. You can then listen to these tracks without needing an internet connection. – When you have enough songs queued up, they appear in your library (which is accessible via a tab at the top of your screen).
